Hi ! I updated the website with the last prices and added links to today's auction, but didn't add more posters yet, I'm not active latelly buying, so, I don't need it. If someone want me to add some posters with the price charts, I can do it, but not sure I have time before today's auction, only a few hours left
In any case, I don't see too much interest and it's a lot of work, so, I'll use my website for other purposes in the future, not in a hurry, tho, so, until then, this web will continue working and I'll update sometimes, as I need it myself

You raise some valid points. There is a treasure trove of important research and information about movie posters on this forum but the reality is that the vast majority of topics and discussion are started by Hondo. His research has been incredible, but he often laments that few if anyone responds to his topics. There are now lots of Facebook pages devoted to movie posters and many collectors have gravitated to those. Bottom line is that very few people contribute to the forum.

There doesn't seem to be the same set of enthusiasm for this that other collectibles get, such as trading cards and comics. About ten years ago there was an effort made to "slab" lobby cards like they do with baseball and comics. It went absolutely nowhere. These days a graded and stabbed card is likely worth slightly less than an unslabbed one from a reputable dealer.

Is the Movie Poster hobby expanding, contracting or Staying the same
I have been collecting for only 5-6 years so my knowledge of the hobby is limited. When I look at price comparisons for many older poster< 60's I don't see much price appreciation, and frequently I see price depreciation. I see this a lot with the old westerns. Those of course may be due to PC (guns, and native American portrayals). Do you long time collectors see an increase in number and activity of movie poster collectors?

I also prefer used posters to look like used posters. As I view it, cleaning and restoration should only be applied to extremely valuable posters, or those that are somehow historically important (and scarce!)

I feel like our hobby is a sleeping giant... One day people are going to wake up and realize that they are paying $$$$ for a copy of Spider-Man 300 (first appearance of venom) when there have been almost 20,000 of them graded just by one company. Basically everyone has one and you could get one at anytime. The irony is that comic collectors use movies to speculate on comic values.
In contrast the most desirable comic in the world is Action Comics No. 1 and there have been only 72 graded by CGC. So maybe 100 copies graded and another 100 hiding?
What are some premium titles that could have a known population around 100 or less...?
And why don’t they sell for six and seven figures... We just haven’t done a good job of making our hobby an attractive investment... People buy comics and cards thinking investment.

Hell even the home theater nerds buy fake posters.
I think we are in a good spot in terms of scarcity. How do we wake people up?

What is wrong with our hobby???!
I have been reading a bunch of comics during the pandemic and got an itch to look at what an x-men no 1 might cost. Well the highest graded copies are close to $100k and the lowest are going for around $1000 (missing pages!)
There are currently 5000+ graded copies... This book is from 1963!

I mean I know we argue the rarity of say Mad Max but even if there are 300 copies out there - that is a drop in the bucket compared to comics. AND the new flock to these art prints (I’m guilt of buying them..)
Wonder if it’s lack of availability in mass quantities make it commercially unattractive. Basically, you can only buy what you see.
